Well well well, it looks like another installment of Black Mirror is upon us. If you haven’t viewed the series by now or find it the least bit interesting, then I fear you’re missing out. Maybe it’s not for you, and that’s understandable. I’ll even admit the series is rather strange, to say the least, but in the spirit of Pops, that’s the beauty of it!
There’s a lot of thought-provoking subjects if you can get into them. For example, what makes Black Mirror special is its social commentary on technology and all of its effects on society. Its dark nature only adds to its dystopian messages. It’s what gives each episode its flavor; full of suspense that should keep you on the edge of your seat.
And yeah I’m hyping it up, but it’s worth it. Some episodes stick out to me more than others and some are even darker than others. For instance, the three episodes that I thought were pretty good I ended up writing about. You can check those out here, here and here.
Ultimately, I think what Black Mirror says to us about technology and the future is should we fear it or embrace it, and how far are we willing to integrate our humanity with these machines? But to wrap this up, I’ll just say I’m looking forward to seeing what season 5 has up its sleeves.
